Foster The People made their way to Singapore to play to a sold out crowd at the fort gate at fort canning part as part of their Asian tour!

we managed to catch the boys as they landed into Singapore hours ahead of their debut gig here and they were really nice and drummer mark pontius is the best looking one of the bunch ha

lead singer mark foster was surprisingly tiny, maybe just a little taller than avril lavigne ha and bassist cubbie was also really nice heh

nothing much happened as it was just a brief encounter with the band so here are the signed stuff..

talk bout coincidence
bumped into the members of the Aussie band, the jezabels as they were getting on their tour bus in Singapore!

i even had to knock on the glass windows to get their attention! ha

the first one to get my attention was lead singer, hayley as i signalled to her that i would like her to sign some stuff and.. she made her way off the bus to meet me! and after she's done signing for me, she said she's gonna bring the stuff up to the bus to let the rest of the band sign on it - so nice right!! ha

and as hayley was helping me make sure it's all been signed, i waved to samuel, (role in band), and told him that i would like a group photo with the band and within the next minute, the entire jezabels were standing in front of me!! nik, (role) and heather (role) were really nice as well! though i have to agree they looked pretty tired.. heh

so that's jezabels for you, and they were in town part of the new two-day music festival in Singapore, The People Party, playing alongside local and regional acts and also with bigger notable names such as Metronomy, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Naked And Famous!!

so jake shears + co finally made it to our shores after all these years, and all thanks to lamc productions!

you might not know this but on my recent flight back to Singapore from Melbourne, my flight was actually parked next to ~~Scissor Sisters'~~ Jake Sheares'! but, damned Melbourne airport for not having arrivals and departures on the same level, like the Singapore Changi Airport, i had to wai for another 9 days before meeting him in person!

ANYWAYS

am do glad we managed to meet them but shame we didn't get to see Ana Matronic! it's either she took a different flight as that of the rest of the band + crew, or she's got an amazing make-up artist with her! so good we couldn't spot her! BOOOOO..

so i was holding my October 2006 issue of OUT magazine when Jake saw and tapped me on my shoulder and said 'that'd be me' and i got a fright - as i was bout to join the rest to approach Derek (or Del)!! yes i was quite stunned cause Jake was spotted with a cap and glasses on, though as you can tell, he's pretty vain and removed it while we were taking a picture together ha ha and when i asked for another photo with him after telling him that im a greedy person, he said 'no you're not greedy, you're alright..' HA HA!

also when i asked if they were gonna play 'Something Like This' (from Night Work), Jake said 'i don't think it's on the set list, we haven't rehearsed that in a while..' i joked and said 'well you guys could rehearse tonight in the hotel room!' ad he smiled.. :P

so glad we managed to meet the boys of Scissor Sisters, and thinking bout it now, i wish we'd met Ana as well..

oh well.. till the next time (hopefully they'll be back!!) heh heh

in town for the annual dance event of the year, zoukout,

liverpool electropop/synthpop ~~foursome~~ trio, ladytron came to play for us!!

fret not, lady torn is still a four member band, by the wayy,

as member mira aroyo was 7 months preggers,

doctor advised her not to travel to this part of the world to play,

namely indonesia, bangkok and singapore..

(BOOOO!!)

as explained by fellow member daniel hunt heh

we met them as they arrived into singapore and was making their way to the waiting vehicle..

and these guys were really nice and agreed to signing autographs and taking pictures with us.

helen marnie also mentioned that the singapore airport could easily be on of the nicest airports she's ever been in with 'all the fake palm trees in the terminal.. all so nice..'

andd, as you know when bands like these go on tours,

they would have their luggages tagged for faster recognition at the conveyor belt whenever they land in a new city,

the entire ladytron band and crew's luggage tags were so so nice,

i wish i could steal one of those!!

but it all works so well and were all so pretty..

MIKE POSNER - LIVE

so mike posner played at the uphoria concert organised by sony recently

minutes after the scheduled time and a quick under two minute musical intro,
mike took the stage and kicked off the night with one of his singles 'please dont go'

and he also did his other hit singles like 'cooler than me' and 'bow chicka wow wow'

within that hour-long set, posner also did an oasis cover of 'wonderwall' and an adele cover of 'rolling in the deep'
and prior to the performance,
i was already going crazy for his version of that adele track.
he made it so easy to listen to,
no big vocals like adele but it still work with those backing beats - genius!!

also he did his latest single 'looks like sex'
and apparently it was the first time ever he's performed it!!
however the track was edited to 'looks like yes'
and thanks to @Gwenbert on twitter who clarified that 'looks like yes' is an cencored LIVE version while the radio edit is called 'likes to text'

er.. posner, seriouslyyy??

that aside,
i like the fact that he did songs from almost every single mixtapes/albums he's released
also i like how he interacted with the crowd the entire time.
in that hour-long set,
mike danced, sang, rapped and even played the piano,
what more could we have asked for, reallyyyyyy?

and as you all know,
singaporean concert go-ers aren't exactly the type who would 'jump' when they asked you to,
but mike commanded all to do the two-step dance and to my surprise,
they were all doing it and enjoying themselves!

good job posner!!

i must also add that i love it when he did tracks from his latest mixtape
and in particular 'shut up' and 'maunder music'!!
i was dancing and grooving and enjoying myself so much when he did those two tracks,
back to back, no kidding!!

so the ones who brought us that ears-pleasing tune of 'hey soul sisters' popped by singapore ahead of their philippines shows,

to play at the uphoria concert with co-headliner mike posner

we met lead singer patrick monahan and drummer scott underwood by chance as he was jumping into the bathroom and as he made his exit out of the restaurant where he was dinner,

respectively

honestly

one look and you would know they are someone in a band

yes they both have gotten that kinda rock star vibe

he was nice to stop for some autographs and a photo

and it was also nice to have met someone who's been in the music industry for such a long time,

as according to wikipedia, train's been going strong since 1994!!

such a shame that we didnt get to meet guitarist jimmy stafford,

blame it on the lack of determination and persistence

ha ha

in any case, and being absolutely honest,

i thought train was a faily new band cause the last song we heard from them,

drops of jupiter, seemed like donkey years ago and i didnt even know it was train back then

and it was only recently when we heard hey soul sisters that they caught my eye heh

anyways

yes, mike posner finally made it to our shores after playing a couple of shows this past year in some of the neighbouring countries heh
so mike was in town to play at the sony uphoria party at scape as one of the two headliners alongside train.
(yes the ones who brought us that radio hit 'hey soul sister')

so we met him after he was done with soundcheck + a radio interview

i told him how glad i was that he finally made it to singapore and that i was a big fan
and he kept saying thank you
also when i asked is he was going to do any songs off his recently released mixtap 'the layover'
or would it be only from the '31 minutes to take off'
and he said that he's planning to do some from 'the layover'..
then i told him that 'shut up' and 'maraunder music' are two of my favourites from the album
and he smiled.. AWWWW..

after signing personalised autographs for us,
i asked if we could have a photo and he said yes
then i told him we needed two pictures.
cause one is the normal one and the other is the one with his signature 'BRAINS UP' hand sign
ha ha

he was so nice and so soft-spoken and i think he is truly talented.
okay i could be biased heh

this is rubylux

they are a four-piece band from brighton

the band was supposed to be in singapore back in 2009 as part of singfest

however, plans were scrapped for that particular year,

so this marked their maiden's visit here!

they were in town as part of this year's indochine's green festival

met the guys just as they arrived in style at their hotel while doing their check-in

and by 'style' i mean they were chauffeured in a stretched limousine,

rock star style.

so when i arrived at the hotel alone,

i saw the guys hanging in the lobby and so i caught the attention of mike, the drummer

and the whole band walked out!

they were pleasantly surprised to see me and they were even more shocked to see that i have a printed photo of them for them to sign!

and the lead singer, rob had a video camera on and had even recorded a video of me saying

'welcome to singapore.. blah blah..'

it was fun heh

and when i asked the guys for a photo with them,

mike suggested we should take a group picture then individual pictures with the band!

he even made clark, adam and rob take turn to be the photographer ha ha

a quick coincidental run-in and guys,

you guys should watch out for these guys!!

malaysian singer-songwrite, zee avi,

who is signed to jack johnson's label,

came back to singapore for a gig at TAB in support of her recent release, ghostbird

and we managed to gatecrash the gig

(all thanks to alan)

and watch the last minutes of the show and she was pretty good

she was supported by a three-piece band

one of her last couple of songs was one of my favourites off her debut self-titled album,

'kantoi', which was a bahasa melayu-english song

and it was beautifully done, no kidding.

and after the gig,

we hung around the venue and we bumped into zee avi's mum!

she saw us and she said to us,

'wait here kay? i'll get zee zee to come out!'

and so we did

and shortly after,

zee avi appeared!

she seems rather.. weird

and what's weirder was when we asked her for her autograph,

she insisted that her bass player sign on it as well

and after signing our stuff,

she shouted hysterically for her other band member,

and when he was making his way up,

she started making the action of as if she was pulling him up on a fishing line and she made some fans 'pull' with her!

cute or weird, you be the judge

rather weird me thinks heh heh

GREYSON CHANCE - LIVE

so a couple of hours after greyson landed in singapore
he went on to put up a show for his enchancers at powerhouse st james power station
well, the place was filled with kids between 12 and 16 year olds,
it's understandable though since greyson chance himself is only 14 heh heh

anyways
so just before the show,
the 987fm deejays were on stage to hype the crowd just before greyson takes the stage
and as soon as the clock strikes 07:00PM,
greyson chance came on stage
and the crowd went wild, literally.
from screams to banners and the only short was panties being thrown on stage.
well, just saying heh

so they were playing a 'how well do you know greyson chance' game
and they had fans on stage
and guess what?
there was a supposed 'fan' who doesnt know the name of greyson's album,
i mean, reallyyy?
werent you a big anough fan to get a copy of the album to gain entry into the showcase?

oh well..

so long story short,
game ended, show started.

he kicked off with his newest single on our local radio stations, 'unfriend you'
and he was on the piano for the intro before he launch into the chorus when a backing track came on.
the second song he did was the title track 'hold on til the night'
which was done solely on the piano and it really showcased his vocals and
it was very beautifully done..
'home is in your eyes' was the third one he did,
which was one of my personal favourite besides 'summer train',
he explained how the song would remind him of someone's eyes back at home in the states
and whle he's on tour,
the eyes would belong to the fans..
aww, such a sweet talker, right ha ha

and the video which caught the world's attention,
or ellen's attention,
which was a cover of mother monster's 'paparazzi'!
i personally LOVED it though ha ha
okay i could be biased :P

so the last song he did was 'cheyenne'
which i believe is a song about a girl whom he's fallen in love with.
quite shocking if you ask,
cause i never knew a 14 year old would know what falling in love is..
ha ha

so shortly after some chanting of 'GREYSON! GREYSON! GREYSON!',
he came back on and he said,
'how would i leave without singing this one..'
of course, his debut single
'waiting outside the lines'!

indeed, those enchancers have been waiting outside the lines to enter powerhouse since as early as 8 in the am!
can you believe it?
well, i can!
you never know what singaporeans would do to achieve somethingg.. heh

in any case,
greyson chance was really good
both singing and playing the piana,
cause i for one do not know how to play that instrument heh

was a showcase worth checking out despite the rainy weather..

greyson chance
the first ellen degeneres' discovery off youtube popped by our shores
to promote his self-titled debut album, 'hold on til the night'!

we met him shortly after he touched down onto our soil after he completed his part one of his promo duties in malaysia
he was a really nice young chap but he looked really tired,
probably cause prior to getting on the plane,
he was still tweeting at 3AM!
and also judging by his tweets,
it seems like the people in malaysia were trying to squeeze every inch of the 14 year old dry
by lining up loads of events for him.

anyways together with him were about 5 other people
including his mum, lisa, who was very nice to have introduced herself to us!

and there were a handful of people at the airport
and greyson agreed to autographs and photographs despite how tired he was
before we were being told that he'd be in a hurry and wouldnt want to be late for the show later that evening heh

and here comes dramamama..
as roxanne was asking if he would take a quick polaroid, of himself,
he 'fought' with roxanne saying 'i do not take pictures alone..'
and roxanne was very persistent to have just him in the polaroid!
so what happened was greyson even went on to try to pull the camera strap off her neck!!

it was a hilarious scene, no kidding! HA HA!!

well, he's a kid afterall... heh heh

you prolly havent heard anything about them

but this four-piece australian band, from sydney,

have already scored their first aussie number one with their first single, 'shout'!

they released their debut self-titled album in july and

it debuted at #20 on the album charts and on the fourth position on the australian album charts.

so, need i say more?

anyways, lead singer greg, guitarist chris, bassist matt and drummer jason were recently in town to promote themselves and we were all invited to watch them play at a closed-door, invite-only show at TAB late last month

and they played a second show the next evening at the pump room in clarke quayy..

their trip to singapore and their performances here marked their debut show in the whole of asia - singapore's sure to be honured!

and just bout 30mins before their show at TAB,

colin brought us to the holding room where the band was chilling and getting themselves ready for the show

we chatted and hung out with them for a wee while

and they were awesome, quirky and funnyy

very easy going guys who obviously are happy and proud to be in a band and doing what they love - music.

and shortly after, they had to get themselves ready for the big show,
well we all know bands and pre-show rituals so we let them be

and when they came on stage,
besides the music was louder than greg's vocals,
they were awesome.

they did a bunch of songs from their album and we loved what we heard!
be it acoustically or plugged,
these guys are really really good!
did i also mention that jason is mad mad mad on the drums?
i told him that, and he know it! HA HA!

we're also pretty sure with the right people to market them,
they'll could be H U G E ! !
and we were told that they will be releasing their album in the U S of A next year
and are managed by the same people who managed nickleback!
okay, I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot from them in 2012!!

okay this is so long overdued but i just remembered!!

so dita von teese was in town last month to do a couple of cointreauversial performances and attend quite a number of events.
just as we thought there'd be no chance of meeting her,
we bumped into her as she made her exit from the singapore jewel fest at takashimaya!!

i approached her asking if she'd sign an autograph for me but the security guard surrounding her sort of try to push me away,
but lucky me,
dita heard me asking and she said, yes and she walked right over to me,
and signed a couple of autographs.
though she did mention that she was in a hurry so she couldn't take a picture,
i totally understand cause she's got a show to go to in under two hours!!

i was shaking with excitement!!

cant believe we met her,
she was so pretty and so doll-like!!
she's like a walking porcelin doll!!

and honestly,
she is one of those celebrities whom i think look exactly like how she looks like in photoshoots!

i wish we have had taken a picture together just to prove my point..

anyhow ashanti was in town as part of the david and friends' tour
and yes she was a friend of david,
who would have known, right!

well it was already such great news knowing she's here!

so we met her shortly upon landing into our changi airport
and you would spot her from afar
she was in neon pink tracksuit, with sunglasses on and a surgical mask
okay, in case you're wondering why the hell she's with a surgical mask,
it was cause she was coughing while on her way to singapore and the air stewardess made her wear the mask!
and ashanti was such a good girl to have listened to the flight attendant all the way till she gets into her vehicle!!

so we approached her and she looked shocked to have been recognised
and she was such a doll to have taken her time to make sure she's signed everything nicely for us
then we asked her for a photo
and she told us to follow her to her vehicle as she's got the surgical mask on

once we were outside,
she moved her luggages into the waiting car and removed her mask and signaled us over to have the photo taken

such a doll, right? ha ha

anyways, as usual,

so this is min chul of t-max,
one of the members of a gazillion other kpop bands out there..
as you can see he was fidgeting around too much,

this is what we call purely coincidence

while waiting for some other artistes to pop onto our shores,

we managed to meet k-pop boy band t-max's leader shin min chul as he landed into changi for 'a very important meeting over the next three days.'

he seems really nice and all
and obviously he stopped for autographs and photos
and those fangirls were so excited to meet him prior to him landing,
they were all dolling up, combing their hair and screeching in excitement - i dont blame them
we've been there done that (though sometimes, i still get that kinda expressions!! HA HA)

we all gained access to the band's meet and greet just hours before their performance at the open area just outside the louis vuitton store at ion
it was an exclusive, invite-only thing for winners off ion's facebook page,
where they were running a contest where you need to tell them in 50 words like why do you wanna meet the band, blah blah..

so just a week before the boys men from blue were dued in singapore for ion's second anniversary 's celebration,
the announcement was made that they were gonna come to singapore and perform for us - five years since they were last in singapore
obviously we had to meet them again and since the last time they were here duncan was ill and antony was in such a bad mood,
he refused to take photos with anyone.
but i blamed it on their tight touring asian tour schedule

so i met them as they were at ion for dinner after popping onto our shores a few hours laterrrr..
first it was ant and lee as they were going out for a quick puff
then it was duncan who needed to take a leak
finally simon as the entire group of them were leaving the restaurant.

all of them actually looked good,
even better than the last time i could remember.

of course we all were shaking when we met her as we spotted her.
and as she made her way out from the departure gate at the airport when shakira landed in singapore, for her debut gig here on our shores as part of the singapore grand prix!!

we were all obviously star strucked and she was so so so so nice,
easily one of the nicest celebrities we have EVER met!!
(and hello, we have met more than quite a few celebrities.. ha ha)
she stopped and she signed autographs for us and she even said 'yes' to hugs just before she left us and to go into her waiting vehicle.

AND!

since it's not an every other year event that we get to see shakira and true to stalkerazzi tradition,

group or solo shot doesn't quite matter and her manager interrupted and said 'no, no pictures..'
and guess what?
when shakira heard the question, she told her manager

anyways, it was pure coincidence when we bumped into him and he was really nice to have stopped to sign some autographs and take photos with us despite the madness at the airport, well unlike taio cruz who was on the same flight as him.

i always like meeting deejays cause they are always so cool and all and the fact that they are some of the world's best producers and people who actually write the music, they are usually awesome people.

there are a few more deejays that i would really love to meet.. wish me luck as more are headed our way for the annual beach party - zoukout in december!!

lets be honest, toro rosso's jaime alguersuari is pretty damn hot. he was one of the drivers whom i really want to meet.

anyways so as we were about to head off on one of those nights, i spotted the spanish driver's silhouette as he was making his way to the ground floor, don't even ask me how i was able to but i did and sometimes i stunned myself with the things i do also ha ha

so as we met him, i was obviously shaking with excitement and i was literally in shock knowing he was standing in front of me. so all of us asked for a picture each and he also signed some autographs for us.. he looked so good im not even kidding!! i wish all of you got the chance to see him upclose and minus the helmet ha

in any case, seeing as i have waited for so long, i decided to went to him after everyone else got their autographs and pictures, i chased after him, pulled him on his cardigan and told him if i could have another picture as the previous one didn't turn out very good ha ha although we all know the reason was just cause im a greedy bastard ha ha

so, for the next couple of days, we still spotted alguersuari walking around and as he leave the hotel for the circuit heh in my opinion, i think he doesn't look too good in his navy colored toro rosso shirt.. heh

yes this is the famous/in-famous boy george from the 80s group culture club and he was recently in town for the singtel singapore grand prix where he performed live, instead of his usual deejay gig in singapore.

and we met him as he landed onto our shores and to be honest, we were all very afraid of approaching as he walked out upon collecting his baggages especially after what you have read/heard on tabloids that how big a diva he can be and how unfriendly and stuck up he is. so approaching him was a challenge.

having him sign an autograph for each of us was another challenge. lastly, asking him for a picture with no crazy make-up on was the biggest challenge.

also, i have to say this that boy george'sa true artiste. he sang so beautifully and never have i thought that he could have sung like that when we watched him as he performed the last two songs on his set, where he sang the bob dylan song 'knocking' on heaven's door'!!

speaking of spotting, this one is truly a surprise.

as we had finished our brunch at subway over at raffles city shopping centre, and as we were leaving, i spotted the legendary 7-time world champion michael schumacher walking towards our direction!!

my reaction? of course, stop him! but as i was in a shock when i saw him, marilyn decided to approach him for a photograph. and as we all have read and know that schumacher can be quite a bitch/diva on most days, it was definitely one of those days, he told us and some other australian fans in a very stern manner, 'no photos'.

well, well, we respected him and i asked him if he could sign an autograph instead, he walked over, took my marker and card, signed it and ended it with a smiley face - must be my lucky day ha ha

honestly, having him agree to sign an autograph is already an accomplishment - very contented indeed ha ha

what more can you expect after having to watch their latest video for sexy and i know it?

well, to be honest, i didn't expect too much except to be meeting a bunch of great and fun people and i blame it on the fact that these guys, traveled for over 18 hours all the way direct from los angelas which left them all tired but that said, they were still nice and they looked exactly like how they look in their videos, well with their clothes on of course!

you know my quest's been going really well when you see a picture with some jewelry shop in the background ha ha

yes, spotted one of force india's driver, scottish boy paul di resta at marina square as he was obviously shopping with a lady friend, who looks a lot like lindsay lohan, honestly! but don't worry, i can confirm it wasn't our favorite party girl with him as she was speaking with super thick and strong scottish accent.

anyways, although paul sure didn't look like he was in one of his happiest moments, he sure is pretty nice to have stopped in the mall for some autograph signings and photos.

i know this picture is a little blurry that's cause it's a video still! HA HA! wanted to take a photo but the camera was in video recording mode, well, now i have 3 seconds of video with him, not complaining! :P

i say he is one of the must watch for the grand prix this season, seeing as he moved up from the 8th position in the italian grand prix in monza to a great 6th position in the singapore grand prix.

and the next one being spotted on my formula 1 drivers' quest, was lotus-renault driver, hekki kovalainen.

hekki was at the bar when we saw him but we caught him as he was exiting.. he's one of the older drivers, in terms of age but he still looks one of the best, if you asked me ha ha also, he's got them killer blue eyes - what more could you have asked for?

just a quick encounter with him though we still saw him walking around over the next few days. we even saw him while he was coming back from some golf action with his clubs and on both practice evenings as he made his way to the marina bay circuit.

not sure if you already know this but i have been a pretty late but big fan of the hbo vampire television series TRUE BLOOD, all thanks to @manfredkueh and @jovenatheart!! HA HA

anyways, so one of my favourite characters off the show, ryan kwanten (who plays jason stackhouse on the show), popped by our shores in between his filming schedules as part of the 24th annual singapore international film festival at lido recently.

ryan was in town to promote griff the invisible, where he played the lead role.

i told him i am a pretty big fan of true blood and also am a big fan of his and that i was shaking cause im really starstrucked. he told me to calm down in the jason stackhouse, suburb american accent he has on the show, so damn sexy i tell you ha ha everything else that happened or whatever nonsense i had blabbered, i totally don't remember at.all. yes i was that starstrucked! also i swore to god i was very close to crying after meeting him ha ha

so max, tom, jay, siva and nathan popped by our shores for yet another round of promo.

well, since they were on their way back home, where they were to make their australian debut and to promote themselves.

so as my heart vacancy and all time low singles arrived shortly after the boys left singapore the previous time (which you can read ALL about it here), i decided i have to go meet them at least once on their 4 days crazy-packed promo here.

met the boys when they arrived from melbourne and it was surprising to see many fans waiting for them and by many, i mean there must have been over 200 screaming fans, and it was insane. thanks god we got to meet the boys ahead of everyone else.

all of them, surprisingly, remembered us from back in february, namely roxanne and i as they walked out after collection their baggages.

they were all like 'how have you been?', 'everything okay?' and it seems like we're such good mates from long ago ha ha

was nice until those fangirls AND BOYS filled the entire terminal's arrival hall with screams and tears, i mean tears, really?

not too long, say bout just slightly over 24 months, i was just on an island - pulau tekong, home to the basic military training centre schools.

3 months later, after those crazy lips infection (those lips were so big and swollen i hated myself and hating myself was never one of those things i enjoy doing nor have ever done before), initial three weeks of crying myself to sleep cause everything was just too much, three fainting experiences, six nights out on field camp with absolute no shower, no proper food (well, preserved and war-time food aren't exactly proper), no proper sleep and multiple crazy punishments. those were the days you wonder why didn't your family give birth to you as a lady so you could escape all these nonsense.

however, it was all not so down and dirty, most days you have a couple people who make joke and talk nonsense to make you go all giggly and laughing out loud for we all know we're all in this together and we could only be glad our paths crossed and we became acquainted and eventually became friends and buddies.

it was on that island where i got to not only hold but also fire a rifle, the SAR 21, for the first and only time, well a long time i must add. Also, i threw my first and only grenade. no big deal, reallyy though im pretty sure at that point in time i must have been close to wetting my pants ha

the date was 09 12 09, my mum's birthday and the day when im finally outta the island, for good, well unless i got a vocation that required me to go back there and till then it was all overrrrrr..

got posted to being a regimental policeman and the six weeks of training was well, much relaxing at clementi camp in the west as compared to the far east, on an offshore island! we got to take morning showers and have plenty of sleep, feed ourselves with nice burgers and wantons, almost every other night ha ha it was also there where i got to fire a machine gun dammit, the general purpose machine gun! was it fun, am not gonna lie, yes ha would i like to fire another one again? well, no thank you very much ha ha
those nice, easy breezy six weeks came to an end when the entire section of mine got posted to the air force, honestly, can't complain seeing as the other two options being in the navy was pretty insane with swimming ten laps as part of the morning exercise regime and being in army where the 'work' schedule is pretty bad heh

so in the air force, in the 'unit' that i'll be stuck with till the day i said hello to my civilian identification card again, i started my dutyy proper. with a background of a total of four fainting stints, they were pretty smart to have me being in the pass office along with some of the 'elites' (or so they claimed).

not gonna brag or make a big deal out of it, but we were under the command of a very easy going superior (unless you chose to fuck everything up every other day, then that's a completely different story) heh

eighteen months past, i looked at the clerk as he pasted the 'NSman' sticker on the back of my 11B (the military identification card), to replace the word 'ENLISTEE', not sure how i felt at that point in time.
it could easily have been excitement to be excited for whatever that's gonna happen next in my life, but i did feel a hint of reluctance as i left the place with my final bits of belonging..

i have met some of the most wonderful people in these two long years of my life and have made some very worthy life-long friends and buddies that i would not forget the kind of nonsense and punishments we've been through, and especially the times when my body gave up on me and i had to depend on IV drips to be 'revived' again and when all else fails, it's only the friends that you have made that made life easier to pull through those times.

thank you to the officers, commanders, specialists, buddies, fellow bunk mates, colleagues, friends and acquaintances, you have made a difference in my life, and you need to know. And good luck in all your future endeavors, y'all!

thanks to the ever lovely team at MTV ASIA once again for inviting us and having to prepare such a nice buffet spread so early in the morning, we went to the live screening of the MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2011 direct off satellite all the way from the nokia theatre in los angeles to the MTV Asia headquarters.

mother monster once again stole the show without having to do much. she had traded wild and crazy fashionista for drunk and masculine when ~~lady gaga~~ joe calderone opened the show with her latest single 'you and i'. and prior to the performance, joe calderone was making all sorts of comments bout gaga which left britney spears all wondering who the hell was on stage and the biebs looked obviously bored of the entire thing, well, he could have just skipped the awards, me thinks.

so you might have already read/watch/realised that our favorite beyonce knowles announced her pregnancy on stage, and both katy perry and nick minaj were looking like idiots with their crazy outfit which, obviously, they are trying to take over the gaga's throne of being the most outrageously dressed, and congrats nicki, was reading off twitter during the live screening that someone said and i quote 'nicki minaj is wearing the left overs from all of gaga's previous outfit'. i cannot agree more. she looks like walking garbage.

and yes, in case you haven't already figured it out, i do not like nicki minaj.

another highlight (for me at least) from this year's show was the fact that they got one of my favorite brit artiste, jessie j as their in-house entertainment and BOOOOOOOO, that girl deserve more than that! but i guess it's good publicity for her since she is still new and all that people were tweeting and asking about who that crippled woman seated on stage who were belting out 'price tag' (sans b.o.b), 'do it like a dude' and covers of cee-lo green's '~~fuck~~ forget you' and tlc's 'no scrubs' amongst others. tyler glenn (of neon trees, of course), who was not invited to the show, approved as he tweeted on his twitter account heh heh i also like how positive she is towards the whole thing when at the pre-vmas, selena gomez asked her how she were cause of her injured foot, she said something along the lines of 'instead of feeling sorry for myself at home, i decided to get on a plane and come to los angeles for this gig'. KUDOS!

also the tribute to the late amy winehouse by russell brand was rather interesting, seeing as he did not screw anything up and it was clearly an emotional one for adele who was sitting in attendance looking all sobbish and cute. tony bennett came on stage and showed a video of him and winehouse singing a track off winehouse upcoming album, in the studio, it was beautiful.

big toes and thumbs up to bruno mars for that musical tribute to amy winehouse with his rendition of valerie which was beautifully done, both vocally and the choreography. i believe amy was smiling when she saw that. (:

the other worth talking about performance was by brit queen, adele who did such a perfect performance of someone like you.. words cannot describe how perfect and flawless it was. was truly <3.. AWWW.. what made it so amazing was the fact that it was an absolute stripped down performance with just her vocals and a backing instrument. that was all. 'nuff said..

PARAMORE, not!

so thanks to the very hardworking people over at midas, hayley williams and company, jeremy davis and taylor york, collectively known as PARAMORE, played their second show here in singapore earlier this week, this time with label mate, THE SWELLERS.

we were there when they arrived and the arrival hall of change airport at terminal 2 was filled with no less than a hundred excited and screaming fans. so after the entire entourage have collected their stuff and walked out, you'd at least have expected the band to at least stop and sign not for everyone but maybe a couple autographs for the fans? NO!! hayley had her hood on covering her fiery red hair while the rest just walk towards to the waiting vehicle, so fast they could easily miss a step and fall.

the worst part was when i approached hayley with my RIOT! album and THE FINAL RIOT! DVD to ave it signed, she replied 'hi, i'm not signing.' S E R I O U S L Y ? !

still, the fans, for some weird reasons, were contented to have just seen them walk past them. well, not me, not us.

honestly, taylor swift greeted the 200+ fans at five in the morning and managed to stop and sign for almost everyone and the mother fucking princess, avril lavigne bothered to sign for people at the airport when she arrived, I DONT SEE WHY A HAYLEY WILLIAMS (& co.) CANT!!

honestly, there aren't another act that i really do wanna watch besides linkin park and shakira, but then again, im gonna look like a retard when she starts singing in spanish, oh well, okay, maybe will watch charice when she sings pyramid and louder but not her gospel-ish songs and maybe rick astley since i've bee told that he could be quite fun to watch especially when everyone will be doing those synchronised dance moves to together forever and never gonna give you up ha ha

and so the other mega event of the year in music, besides the grammy’s that is, is back and this year, the VMAs will return to california in los angeles at the nokia theatre on 28 august 2011 (29th august morning, our, singapore time heh)

so katy perry’s got a whole bunch of nominations, NINE to be exact, including video of the year (reallyyy?!!)!! mother monster only got THREE nominations? britney spears only received TWO nominations and rihanna is only nominated for her features work with kanye west and eminem? and whatttttt? neither born this way nor judas is nominated for video of the year and rolling in the deep is? what's up with katy perry ehh? and rolling in the deep is in the running for best direction and s&m, judas and born this way are not??

call it luck or call it fate, reallyy.

so a day ahead of their debut show here in singapore, the crew and members of the irish band TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB were spotted by us as we made our way through a particular hotel down town. the entire entourage were hanging in the lobby and all of them looked obviously tired, probably jet lagged by their 13 hour long flight direct from heathrow earlier that day.

but the very nice british boys agreed to sign some autographs and posed for pictures with us in spite of how tired they were. we spotted lead singer alex trimble first as he had ginger hair and was obviously standing out from the rest of anyone who was at the lobby. then we saw sam halliday with his neatly combed hair seated with his hands under a cushion and he looked so stoned, not from drugs (i hope), but apparently from the flight earlier. and as we were wondering where bassist kevin baird was, sam told us that he was late and should probably be on his way down soon. and within the next ten minutes, a spectacled kevin with unshaved beard was spotted as he made his way to where the rest of the boys were seated at. he signed and posed for pictures before meeting up with the rest who had already walked into a nearby restaurant.

and that was exactly what happened when we bumped into the band! easy, breezy, just like that ha ha

mr. james 'you're beautiful' blunt popped by singapore for the second time as part of his some kinda trouble world tour where he played in hong kong and bangkok prior to the singapore date.

we met him for the first time when he landed here a couple of days ago ahead of his gig.

because we have heard of how he was not the friendliest celebrity our thai friends have ever met, we got a bit worried. and true enough, it was one of our most challenging stalk to date with him zig-zagging his way through to his waiting vehicle after picking up his luggages. he dragged his luggage and walked really quickly, mind you!

also, when we finally have him stopped, he was signing and walking at the same time. to be really honest, fact that he even bothered to sign stuff for us, cannot complain anymore ha ha and he even agreed to pictures with us and we made sure it was a really quick one.

as much as this is one of our most challenging stalk to date, it is easily one of the most accomplished ones. his english accent was really nice and man, to think he stopped, signed and took a picture with each of us, i am contented, really contented in fact. also, he is tiny in height but good and cute enough like that ha ha

but i have learnt one lesson after meeting him, don't buy another james blunt record cause we never know if we'll ever be that lucky enough to stop him the next time around. well, just sayingg..

NEON TREES x WE ARE SCIENTISTS 'LIVE'

as much as i (and possibly many many others) felt that the neon trees concert held in singapore should have been a double bill gig instead of a 'neon trees gig with opening act, we are scientists'!

but heck, whatever the controversy was, it was good fun!

shortly past 8 in the evening, we are scientists with keith murray on lead vocals and guitars, chris cain on bass and former razorlight drummer andy burrows rocked the stage with their own definition of rock 'n' roll! the people standing around me were obviously loving what they were hearing and they were all dancing and rocking out with the band the whole time!

i believed W.A.S played for an entire hour with some silly but funny jokes about 'the spotlight shining on the owl in the tree' ha ha they played 'impatience', 'after hours', 'ambitions' and 'dinosaurs' among others in their hour-long set.

and after about a half hour break for the crew to have finished setting up for the main act, drummer elaine, bassist brenden and guitarist chris appeared on stage with touring guitarist david charles! a couple of drumbeats and guitar tunes later, lead singer tyler was spotted with his flat mohawk and they licked off their set with the theme off the movie, 'the running man' ,'walk on' before transiting to their latest hit on radio 'your surrender' which instantly got everyone jumping and cheering!

ty also explained that it was their first trip to singapore and that he loving everything here from the fans to the food. at one point when he mentioned that his pants were falling, he even suggested that he should 'have more kaya toast'!! HA HA!

the band played every single songs off their album and a little tribute to the late amy winehouse with 'love is a losing game' before continuing on to one of their previously unreleased track 'attraction'. ty and the gang closed their set with a cover of the INXS track 'never tear us apart'.

so after meeting tyler and the gang when they arrived onto our land, the next day, they did a photoshoot for the official apparel of their concert, at the diesel store down town at paragon shopping centre.

as i read on twitter from the concert promoter (@lamcproductions) and other fans, it suggested that the band were doing some sort of meet&greet with fans at noon and by the time i realised that it was happening, i only had five minutes to get ready to head on down to try and spot them!

this was what's been tweeted..

i did what i had planned on doing - head on down to the diesel store.

thankfully, the awesome foursome were still in-store and they were not only taking photos and signing autographs for the winners who got to meet them, but they were also shopping at the same time! talk about multi-tasking!! HA HA!!

the doors to diesel were left opened and when the drummer, elaine, turned and saw me, she smiled. and the next thing i know, she was outside, talking to me and saying how nice it was to see me again!! and then she started S.I.N.G.I.N.G. 'daniel' by bat for lashes and said that that was one of her favourite songs of all time. trust me, i died.

then i waited for the whole event to be over, and while waiting, the band took more photos for diesel and here's what i snapped ha ha

and after about an hour and a half after the event started, the band walked out of the store. first it was tyler. he walked out and walked straight to me with 'hello daniel! nice to see you again!' and a hug. then with my camera on my hand, he asked 'another picture?' i nodded and started taking the photo ha and after that, he shouted 'guys, wait up, daniel needs another photo. he wants individual shots today!' yes, he did that! HA HA! how lovely and sweet, isnt he? and did i mention that brenden and chris remembered me too? AND, ELAINE SAID 'DANIEL'S MY FAVOURITE'!! O.M.G, indeed!!

met him when he performed at the recent mtv wold stage in kuala lumpur and when we met him, he was just coming back to the hotel, where we were also staying at, from the emir after the mars' performance!

this is also the second time im meeting him after last year's singfest and you can read about it here

before i go on, just wanna thank the amazing people at mtvasia for making this trip possible for all of us to attend the event hee

so the 20 hours trip started off with a crazy two hours queue at the immigration upon our arrival. not funny and they were just pure inefficient heh then we had to get lost while making our way to the
hotel BOO, indeed!

so when we have finally arrived at i-city at shah alam just outside of kuala lumpur, the venue, it was already when BEAST was bout to hit the stage! and big thanks to roxanne's local friend for bringing us

there!! such a shame we missed malaysia home grown, pop shuvit thoughh heh

being the Kpop artistes they are, we of course would not expect any less of those body popping and slick dance moves and true enough, the 6 member group was really good though i was suspecting if they were miming heh though judging from the pleased fans in the audience, it doesn't matter too much ehh

BEAST

next up was the band i been really excited to see fronted by tyler glenn, neon trees!! he was so good at workin the crowd it's almost like he's been doing this all his life but truth is the band only have had 3 singles on the charts and an album under their belt! drummer elaine bradley, bassist brenden campbell, guitarist chris allen and touring back up guitarist david charles together with lead singer tyler glenn put up such an amazing set starting with their latest hit 'your surrender' and then onto 'calling your name', a non-album track, '1983', another one of their singles, 'in the next room' and a couple more before killing it on the incredible performance of their debut hit single 'animal' which left all the animalistic fans gone all wild and crazy!

in between the set, tyler was also explaining that it was the band's virgin trip to this part of the world an that everyone and eveything that they have been experiencing since their arrival in indonesia, where they played ahead of their world stage gig, have been wonderful an that the fans have been extremely overwhelming!!

closing the whole evening was 30 seconds to mars! drummer shannon leto, guitarist tomo milicevic, touring guitarist braxton olita, joined by model-actor jared leto brought 'WAR' with them and brought the entire house down! and while they were playing 'kings and queens', jared invited a group of lucky fans on stage to join him!!

also, as part of their set, they, or rather jared, did a stripped down acoustic version of 'hurricane' with a guitar and his voice. with that, it obviously bought everyone present over heh

honestly i never knew jared could do such a good job with his singing cause all i know is that he is a pretty boy and that's it. and with that, it totally changed how i look at him now ha ha

so the whole experience at world stage was a really fun one and i cannot thank mtvasia enough for having us!! till world stage 2012..

who wouldn't know 'hey there delilah', right?
the guys of the band who brought you that hit on radio hit our shores for the first ever htc likes awards held at suntec cityy.
plain white t's were one of the performers alongside ex-2pm leader, jay park, aussie-korean twins jayesslee as well as our homegrown derrick hoh.

met these guys as they touched down onto our grounds after a crazy 25 hour long flight all the way from chicago.
met 4 of 5 of the band as one of them, drummer de'mar was walking really quickly and didnt manage to stop him to sign nor pose for pictures. BOO!
nonetheless, i was a happy boy since it was 2 in the morning and i still managed to stop them to sign stuff and pose for pictures though they must have been really, really tired.

because i had to be in camp the next day on the day of the show, i didnt go and watch them but from the tweets i read and from comments on their performance on youtube, the were really really good and i am hoping they would come back to singapore and the region soon ehh..

they also did my favourite song '1,2,3,4' and 'hate (i really dont like you)'. ha ha

Australian-Korean twins Janice and Sonia Lee, who are commonly known on Youtube as JS or Jayesslee popped by to play not one but two SOLD OUT shows at TAB earlier this month!

Caught them just as they got off their 8hour and they sure do look really tired! However, they stopped to say hi, posed for pictures and signed autographs for the group of less than 20 without hesitation.

I think these girls are going to be pretty huge once they get themselves signed to a major label, though I think they could probably pull a Marie Digby who is signed to a label who continue to use Youtube as a mean to promote themselves heh heh

Well, I haven't heard much of them before meeting them but I did realize there are heaps of people who have heard of them and loved them but I gotta say, they sure are talented and their voices are very soothing to listen to (:

Me likes the cover of Wonder Girls' 'Nobody', but at the same time, I think they did not fare too well on 'Price Tag' by J-J-J-Jessie J, just my two cents ha ha

So one of the world's biggest DJs of our time popped by our shores as part of his 'comeback' world tour

Norman Cook, or better known as Fatboy Slim played a one night dj set at Zouk late May and we were lucky to have met him when he touched down at Changi

Yes he was the same one who brought us 'Praise You', 'Right Here, Right Now' and the one with Macy Gray, 'Demons'

Boo to the fact that he smelt of bad stench of apparent too much drinking on the plane from Indonesia, me thinks Singapore Airlines must have fed him well while en route here hee

But he was a really nice chillout guy and no one would have guessed that he's almost 50, prolly cause the fact that he's all cleaned up now

Oh well, was really great to have met him, reallyy (:

the threesome new york city indie-pop rockers were in town last month thanks to the same people who brought in the Laneway Festival upon our shores this year.

The Drums as they call themselves comprises of Jonathan Pierce on vocals, Jacob Graham on guitar/keyboards and Connor Hanwick on drums/guitars played at Powerhouse for a one-night only gig.

though we did not meet them band while they were in town, Chugg Entertainment Asia (@ChuggEntAsia) organized a 'Twitter-view' with the fans and they were literally replying to questions for the band on their twitter account on @thedrumsforever and i did ask them a couple of questions and here are the replies heh heh

well, judging from the replies of the guys to all of their questions, i think Connor is 'THE' ~~dumbest~~ most hilarious/cute one of the group. when someone asked how to have a question answered, Jacob/Jonny replied 'add #askthedrums to your tweet' and Connor went 'What's #askthedrums?' HA! it seems like he was not even sure what he was doing at that point in time ehh ha ha

anyhow, thought i'd share, and thank you to Chugg Entertainment Asia for making that happen! it's fun, fun, fun heh

One-half of Major Lazer, Diplo, was in town for a DJ gig at Zirca earlier this month and thanks to HMV Singapore, I scored passes to the show! :D

Diplo was here as part of his SE Asian Tour 2011 which took him to China, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.

Though I have to say that I wish he did not speak too much into that microphone and continue to play 'non-stop' music through his 2 hour long set that Friday night. I like how he played everything from Major Lazer (DUH!) to Top 40s. One thing I did not like too much was when he played 'Run The World (Girls)' (by Beyonce)! It was apparent that the crowd did not enjoy themselves that much and Diplo had to switch that song to another of a similar beat, Pon De Floor (DUH!!), and the crowd went wild almost instantly! HA!

So after his set, and after the multiple Jagerbombs and mixers, when we decided to leave, we saw Diplo taking pictures some girls and was probably signing autographs at where the counter was selling some Mad Decent (a record label owned by Diplo) merchandises, and that was how I got a photo opportunity with him! And the guy behind us, was his cheeky assistant heh heh

All in all, it was a really good night! CHEERS!!

MTV Movie Awards 2011

So, earlier today I was over at the Starhub office for the live screening of the 20th edition of the MTV Movie Awards, put together for bloggers from the Philippines and Singapore by the lovely souls at MTVasia, and when I say lovely, I do mean they are VERY nice.

After the breakfast and smoothies, the transmission began all the way from the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California, with host Jason Sudeikis, performers Lupe Fiasco, Trey Songz and Foo Fighters and presenters Emma Watson, Ashton Kutcher, Chelsea Handler, Ryan Gosling, Mila Kunis, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Emma Stone, Patrick Dempsey, Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, and the list go on and on and on to everyone waiting in the Convergent room all armed with various devices to be able to TWEET with!

The opening skit by Sudeikis, Chelsea Handler, Eve Mendes and Taylor 'Werewolf' Lautner was really hilarious and as MTV's awards' tradition, they totally kicked things off with a major bang and especially the girl-on-girl (Natalie Portman & Mila Kunis) scene off Black Swan! HA HA! The other funny one was when Handler's phone went off, her ringtone was.. Rebecca Black's Friday! HA!

In Sudeikis' words, 'the MTV Movie Awards coming to you LIVE from.. Lady Gaga's bedroom'! HA!

The show also featured an exclusive sneak peek into JJ Abrams' upcoming movie, Super 8 (out in Singapore 09 June 2011) which was presented by Abrams himself along with the cast.

Also being packed into the two-hour long show were the trailers of the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 as well as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1.

the name could ring a bell or two cause once upon a time, not that long ago actually, her hits were filling up on our radio stations. and the face, she is the very gorgeous English lass who's got crazy fair skin, in short, stunningly gorgeous. this is her when she arrived here without the slightest make-up on agreed to pose for pictures with us.

she visited Singapore a good 10 years when back in 2001 for a wee concert at the then Centro (where our Butter Factory is at currently) at One Fullerton and obviously we were all underaged!

so, finally, we got to meet Sophie in person as she was in town as part of this year's Audi Fashion Festival. Apparently, as soon as she arrived, she had to go on tele and then press, then get ready for her show later that evening! Crazy hectic, if you ask me heh especially when she just got off the plane directly from London! 'Spaced-out' was how she described herself to be ha ha

she's promised to not let us all wait another ten years before coming back to our shores and do a proper gig! she's also releasing her new album, 4th under her belt, Make A Scene later this month and i tell you, it's damn good!

my blog's been hacked a couple of days ago when i was 'locked' away in the air base due to the damned RSAF Open House, never mind that hacked incident now that it's over heh

so one of britain's biggest export of the decade popped by our shores for a gig at the esplanade recentlyy.

the duo, adam anderson and theo hutchcraft were spotted just before they went to meet the press when i met them and they were so nice! did i mention that they were absolutely gorgeous too?

though the encounter was a really quick and brief one, i was more than contented and happy to have met them! they shook hands and introduced themselves and signed some autographs and posed for pictures, of course we had a quick chat.

i told adam that i was really glad that they have chosen to 'illuminate' as their new single as it was easily one of my favourite songs on their album and he told me that it was one of their favourite songs as well!

seriouslyy, all the songs on the album are single worthy, in my opinion!

i believe of all the reviews i read of their debut gig here, im pretty sure they will be making their way back soon enough ehh!

her other song 'bottle it up' was used in one of my favourite episodes of 'lipstick jungle' and i can never forget that scene when nicole and kirby were at the 'switch' partyy heh yes, that song stuck with me since! HA!

so, after releasing her second album 'kaleidoscope heart' and supporting MAROON 5 in australia, ms bareilles finally popped by our little hot and humid island!

we met her when she arrived from brisbane way ahead of her sold-out gig at the esplanade.

she was so sweet it's almost diabetic! in her words, 'ive never had fans waiting for me at the airport before!' we sure are honored to have been the first fans who have greeted her at the airport in her career! look, she even tweeted about it!! HA!!

so, we got to meet the bunch just as they arrived here the other day and the mau5 was spotted with playboy model lindsay, who is very hot by the wayy!

anyhow, sofi was one of the reasons i decided to wait for them at the airport cause since we met in 2008, she was this cool chick with a really cool attitude and she is.. okayy so you get the point, SHE.IS.COOL! heh

sofi was rather stunned when i asked her to sign on a photo we took 3 years ago and she literally exclaimed when she saw it and she immediately remembered it! ha ha so she signed and took an updated picture!

so the guys from maroon 5 came back to town as part of their 'hands all over world tour 2011' and lead singer, mr Adam Levine decided to trade friendly for bitchy when the band arrived into town.

he had hands on one of their crew and ran to the waiting vehicle and signed a total of THREE autographs, however, thankfully, the other four members of the band were as nice as i could remember. James Valentine, Matt Flynn, Mickey Madden and Jesse Carmichael must have signed over a hundred autographs for the waiting group of fans heh heh my favourite member gotta be Jesse, since the last time it still remains ha ha

anyhoo, glad the guys got better reviews of their gig as compared to the show three years ago which they did only 13 songs, and how 'lazy' and 'uninspiring' Adam was, oh well.

hopefully, we get to see them again on our shores soon eh, though i do remember that in one of their interviews, they mentioned that this would be their last tour as they 'have already reached the peak in their career'. i say, let the fans be the judge!

in the meantime, there's the new singing competition called THE VOICE which Adam is a judge on, along with Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton. i've watched the first episode, i like it, i like how Adam and Christina were 'fighting'! HA!

have you ever been through something that have an impact of letting yourself stop and think 'hey, life is indeed unpredictable and we should cherish everything we own, we have and what we had'?

well, i did.
just a day before i was off to hongkong late last month,
i was crossing the road and just as my foot landed on the pavement, an accident, behind me, took place.
i, as any other Singaporean would, turned and saw that a taxi with 2 passengers in the back seat had crashed into a normal car with a driver and four passengers on board.
what really shocked me was not the fact that an accident has happened but the fact that the two persons in front in the normal car has both bands to their head!
at that instant, i was too traumatized and has to run away from the scene.
i have been thinking about this and it took me a good 5 days before i could tell someone about it.

i didn't read anything about this on the news nor on any papers so i assumed that whoever was involved must been fine.

here's to life, i love all of you who have stood by me, trusted me, loved me, hated me, cheated me, betrayed me, cursed me and brought me down, all of that made me who i am todayy.

so lenka popped by our island late last month as part of promotional tour for her second album, TWO.
she played at TAB and we were grateful to SPINORBINMUSIC and my friend, joanne for getting us passes to the gig.

she opened the show with the title track, 'TWO', which was a really catchy one, then followed with her newer tunes, one of my personal favourites, 'ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES' and 'EVERYTHING AT ONCE', which was also recently featured on one of the latest episodes of grey's anatomy.

she then continued the show with 'KNOCK KNOCK' and 'DON'T LET ME FALL', both from her debut self-titled album before continuing on with her first single off the new album, 'HEART SKIPS A BEAT', which she explains the backing of the track was actually an actual recording of her heart - eerie i say ha ha then she went off to close her show with one more song off the new album, 'EVERYTHING'S OK', the words were very sweet and honest and i know it'd easily be one of my favourites hee

all of us knew that she was not going to just leave us all there without singing two of her biggest songs, and true enough, she came on stage again and sang us both 'TROUBLE IN A FRIEND' and 'THE SHOW' that got everyone singing along after she joked about the lyrics of the song and the possibility of the people there wanting their money back. and you know what, everyone was singing along with her so loud that, even lenka herself thinks 'you guys are like a choir!' ha ha

so it was the lunar new year all over again just last weekend and it was really nice to catch up with the almost the entire family and of course the part when we collect our red packets hee

also, many concerts and music festivals have been planned for this year and so many artistes are swinging by our shores this year and i cannot wait to meet THE WANTED next weekk! HA! i know im such a fanboyy!

so 91.3FM was running a competition where the biggest fan will have the boys from THE WANTED to play in their living room and i joined the contest and just last night, they rang me back and told me that my name, will be in the draw and the final winner will be announced next mondayy! FINGERS CROSSED!! HA!!

so the NME awards nominee The Foals popped by singapore as part of the first ever Laneway Festival, which was pretty much ruined all thanks to the rain but im sure everyone who went must've had a great great time partying in the rain and 'swimming' in the mud ehh!

joyce was extremely smitten by his accent and he is a really nice guy.
to be honest, i thought he was gonna be much taller than what was the truth but oh well,
so long he continues to make good music,

so im gonna wave my goodbyes to SAF in slightly more then 8 months and seriouslyy, i am not sure if it's gon be a good thing or a curse.

i was so stressed (and still am stressed) with the future after the national service that i had to be on the treadmill to ease those tensions and trust me when i say that it almost felt like i was gonna have a panic attackk!

so another week, another partyy.
it's monday and we all deserve to be happyy and get drunk all month, for tis the season to be jollyy! HA!

last night at crowne plaza hotel all the way at the extreme eastern part of singapore, changi airport, was mad mad mad! mad, in a good wayy! HA! matthew hosted the party in a gorgeous presidential suite at the hotel complete with wines, hard liquors, champagnes, food and everything in between!

love, love, loveeeee! so what if i was in camp on Christmas dayyy! HA!

most of you probably dont know who this boy is ehh
heh heh
he was one of the contestants from american idol who didnt make it through to the live shows,
but but but,
he still got his record deal nonetheless!
and he was in town to perform at TAB for a week earlier this month and i must say he's a really really intense performer!
he's got some moments when he'd flash his 'rabbit' performing face and that he is so so into his music when he performs.

had a nice chat with him while he was taking a puff and seriously,
he's a really nice guyy. heh
here's to wishing him all the best and that he'd set foot on our shores and in the region again!

but to me, sean kingston is much bigger and reuben looks a whole lot more healthier than kingston to be honest. heh

i was a fan when he released his first album and his subsequent releases were pretty gospel so i took a break from him. heh

oh well, he did have some really good songs from his debut cd, soulful which he signed for me. :)

so sean kingston was in town once again late last month for a performance,
part of the singapore gp season!
he is really not that friendly and his manager was probably worst!
thank god for his very nice band member!
and not only was he big, he is tall also!
and i got him to sign on both of the album!
ha ha

whatever it was,
he put on a really really show at the village stage right after adam lambert performed..
i enjoyed it thoroughly, really!

Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott popped by our shores and played a really really awesome set as the headliner of the first day of the singapore grand prix 2010.

remember 'work it' 'get your freak on' 'lose control' and 'pass that dutch'?

she sang all of them.

unfortunately there was a power failure but that didnt stop missy to do what she do best and put on a really good show!

also, she was throwing pieces from her RESPECT M.E line from adidas to the crowd too!

AND! she made her way through to the back of the field to mingle with everyone present at her performance!

and i got missy to sign on my F1 ticket!!
